Calendly suits meetings and sales teams. Acuity suits service businesses with payments, packages and intake. See the cost for 1 to 10 users.

Choose Calendly for meetings: sales calls, demos and consulting. Choose Acuity if you sell appointments, classes or packages. Calendly has a free plan and charges per user, which it calls a seat. For one person it is: $16 a month with no free plan, $27 for text reminders and $55 to hide the logo. For a team it is the opposite: 6 users share one $27 plan, while 6 users on Calendly Teams pay $96 a month.

Who should choose Calendly

  • You book calls and do not sell a service through the booking page.
  • One person needs it for free, with one kind of meeting.
  • You need round robin with routing forms, Salesforce or HubSpot.
  • Your clients already know the Calendly link.

Who should choose Acuity

  • You sell appointments or classes, and you take payment at booking.
  • You sell packages, memberships or gift certificates.
  • You need intake forms with files.
  • You run 3 to 36 users or rooms from one account.
  • You need a signed HIPAA BAA, and you can pay for Premium.

Downsides of each

Calendly: the cost per user rises fast, team features need Teams, and it has no file upload or own domain.

Acuity: no free plan, fewer team tools and no own domain, only an embed. One user in a 2025 Reddit thread wrote that "Acuity support is basically worthless at this point". That is one view, and we did not test support.

Is there anything better?

It depends on the job. See Calendly alternatives for teams and Acuity Scheduling alternatives. Before you choose Calendly, read what Calendly costs by team size.
